The following page has been created to host information about the Officials Realignment Process for both Track and Field and Endurance Officials.
Much of the information will have been posted or e-mailed to you in November 2010 and is reproduced here for reference.
There are some differences in the processes for both Track and Field and Endurance, so if you are affected by changes in both, you will have been communicated to twice.
Below is a more detailed breakdown of how levels will re-align from the old system to the new system. THIS HAS BEEN AMENDED FROM YOUR PREVIOUS COMMUNICATION THAT YOU WILL HAVE RECEIVED WITH YOUR NEW LICENCE.

Level 1 - Assistant Official
|
Aimed at young officials and individuals with no experience of the sport
|

Level 2
|
Level 2a – Club Official
|
Officiate at small club and local races of around 300 runners or less.
|

|
Level 2b - County (or home country equivalent) Official
|
Officiate at county or district standard races (or home country equivalent) typically of up to 1,000 runners or less. Will also be qualified to referee local or club races (within their area) on completion of the required modules
|
|
Level 3
|
Level 2c - Regional(or home country equivalent) Official
|
Officiate at Regional or Home Country Championships, races typically of 3,000 runners or less. Can act as race referee and more senior positions at races at county, regional or district level, or races of 3,000 athletes or less.

Level 5
|
Level 3 – UK Official
|
Officiate at UK wide races, large field races, typically over 3,000 runners, able to act as race referee and more senior positions in larger races. This course is not yet available, courses will be advertised by UKA when they become available.

|
Level 4 - Race Management and Assessment
|
Focuses on development of key areas of more senior officiating roles and assessment methods of a race, meeting management, organisation and support functions. Elements of the new Level 4 education process still need to be fully designed and developed by the volunteer education and training sub group in conjunction with UKA Technical Committee. This course is not yet available, courses will be advertised by UKA when they become available. The sanctioning of a Level 4 licence once the determined pre requisites have been completed by the candidate is under the auspices of UKA.

Level 5 - International
|
Will fall into line with the stipulations of IAAF/EA on the development and education of race officials. This course is not yet available, courses will be advertised by UKA when they become available. The sanctioning of a Level 5 licence once the determined pre requisites have been completed by the candidate is under the auspices of UKA in partnership with international federations.
