About the Combined Events Challenge
When was the UK Combined Events Challenge created?
Following on from the success of the UK Challenge the concept of a specific Combined Events Challenge has evolved during the course of Spring 2007. A pilot event was launched during 2006 with the feedback and recommendations being used to develop the series for 2007 and beyond.
What are its objectives?
-
To provide the strata of British athletes just below that of our international standard with effective, professional competition from the beginning of the season in May through to September.
-
To provide a structured and progressive competition programme that increases the opportunities for participation in Combined Events.
-
To provide wider competition opportunities for aspiring Combined Events athletes and for Non Combined Events Athletes an opportunity to get involved.
-
To provide quality competition for athletes who may not otherwise have the opportunity to compete against each other.
-
To provide competition that covers the whole of the UK.
