More than 200 delegates from the 48 Member Federations of European Athletics will attend the event in London as UKA continues to build on its reputation for staging international athletics events.
UKA Chairman Ed Warner led the bid team at this year’s European Athletics Congress in Lausanne. He said: “We are delighted that we have been chosen to host the 2011 European Athletics Congress. The team put together a high quality bid that demonstrates our ability to stage top class events be they on or off the track.
“We will take the delegates to the Olympic site in Stratford and European Athletics will become one of the first international federations to enjoy London’s hospitality as we head towards the final year of the 30th Olympiad.”
