Super8 2010 will take place at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow tonight with a superb field of competitors mixing stellar Olympic and World class talent alongside the cream of the crop of UK domestic talent.

Following last year’s successful inaugural event at Cardiff International stadium, this year’s event has further developed with 16 international athletes – two for each city team – helping to provide a high level of performance during the evening’s programme.

Team Captains for the eight city teams hoping to lead their sides to glory include Aviva European Trials 400m champion Lee McConnell (Glasgow), Olympic 4x100m gold medallist Mark Lewis Francis (Birmingham) and Olympic 200m finalist Christian Malcolm (Cardiff).

International stars taking part include – world high jump leading athlete Chaunte Lowe (London), World Indoor 60m hurdles champion Lolo Jones (Glasgow), former world and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Kim Collins (Sheffield), Former World and Olympic sprint hurdles champion Allen Johnson (Birmingham) and Former world 100m champion Lauryn Williams (Cardiff)

Before the evening’s main programme, a Super8 Schools event will take place for youngsters in the region, before their medley final takes place during the evening senior programme.
