Aviva has been the team behind UKA since 1999 with a significant amount of money invested in developing the sport at every level.

Last year we announced that we would be changing our name from Norwich Union to Aviva, a journey which began at the 2008 Aviva outdoor athletics events. Our name may have changed but our unrivalled commitment to supporting athletics from the playground to the podium remains the same.

Since our sponsorship began we have continued to recognise individuals’ motivations for taking part in sport and getting active, and have made it our mission to make it easier for athletes of today and tomorrow to achieve their dreams.

We are dedicated to supporting athletes every step of the way, providing one of the best series of domestic events in the world, warm weather training and preparation camps for the Aviva GB & NI Team, performance related ‘top-up’ packages, coaching development initiatives and performance advisors for up and coming athletes.

Over the past decade we have engaged over 9 million children in athletics and this year we aim to help over one million children get active through our UKA grassroots schemes – Aviva Startrack, Aviva Sportshall, Aviva Shine Awards, Aviva Elevating Athletics and Aviva Parallel Success. By 2012 we will have given every child in the UK the opportunity to get involved in athletics, creating a long-term legacy for the sport and unearthing more champions along the way.
